Bionic Health needed to register to do business in 10-15 states immediately.
Bionic Health is a pioneering predictive and preventative healthcare platform co-founded by serial entrepreneur Robbie Allen and Dr. Jared Pelo, a former ER physician and founder of iScribes. They recognized that artificial intelligence, when integrated with experienced physicians, could revolutionize preventative health by delivering highly personalized and actionable care.
At Bionic Health, every member begins with an in-depth assessment of 50+ biomarkers, providing a comprehensive snapshot of their health. Beyond lab results, Bionic's physicians and clinical team take the time to understand each individual’s lifestyle, nutrition, family history, and personal health goals. This data-driven yet deeply human approach allows them to create tailored action plans that empower their members to make informed decisions, optimize their health, and prevent issues before they arise.
By leveraging AI alongside expert medical guidance, Bionic Health bridges the gap between technology and proactive, personalized care—helping people take control of their health in a way that traditional healthcare systems often overlook.
In each state where they operate, their doctors have had to get licensed and ultimately the business has had to register with the secretary of state. Before Discern, Bionic used a mid-market registered agent, and did 10+ foreign registrations themselves.
Figuring out which forms and constantly re-entering the same data was a “horrific use of time”, and the slightly different wording of the questionnaires was a “totally unnecessary cognitive load”.
Since they still needed to register in 20+ COO Kiersten FitzGerald looked for an alternative and found Discern. Although they were sensitive to cost and their previous Registered Agent was less expensive, they felt that Discern was worth the additional cost. In particular, Discern:
As is common in the industry, their previous Registered Agent had a complete lack of continuity in account management, provided no leverage on the support side, and didn’t have software to assist with filings.
Ultimately, using Discern enabled Bionic to spend more time on their mission, improving preventative health, or as they say, putting a fence up at the top of the mountain instead of building a hospital at the bottom.
